Cloisonné Scarab from the King Tut Exhibit

In ancient Egyptian religion the scarab was also a symbol of immortality, resurrection, transformation and protection much used in funerary art. The life of the scarab beetle revolved around the dung balls that the beetles consumed, laid their eggs in, and fed their young represented a cycle of rebirth.

A gorgeous Cloisonné scarab box with a hidden lid. Yellow metal with a gorgeous deep green Cloisonné coloring. This is a very special little box. Hide your smallest (but maybe most imoortant? Secrets inside of him. The box is about an inch and a half give or take, long. It is remarkable craftsmanship.
