Weston’s Story

Weston wanted JoQueta to update everyone on the work she has been doing with regards to schools. Last week JoQueta shared her thoughts on her relationship with Weston, how he has influenced her, etc.

Weston’s vision for JoQueta and what he wants her to work on has always been “very large.” She has taken on this task beautifully and has learned from many.

This is what JoQueta had to say…

My passion has been for many years to change the IEP process in our public schools. It is my opinion that our current special education program is the definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over, even though it does not work.  For 25 years, our children, who have learning challenges, have been dealing with an “insane,” broken system.  It is time for a change!!!

What brought me to this point?  Well it all started about 10 years ago, with a boy named Weston.  As I have shared in past articles, he was the first child who open my mind to the possibilities of “learning differently.”  From there, I went through a period of being angry at the school district and I pulled away and wanted nothing to do with the public special ed system.  In my boycott of the system, about six years ago, I even started a small school of my own, within my private practice.  I decided I would just educate the children myself.

I soon found that while I could definitely help the children make progress, I did not have the knowledge and experience to be a teacher. However, it was a wonderful learning experience that catapulted me to my next undertaking.  What I learned was it is important to identify the child’s learning strengths and develop those strengths into learning strategies.  Then it is important to use the child’s actual classroom curriculum, to make the strategies functional for the child and for carryover to occur.  I was also met with the realization that many children in a Special Day Class environment do not have text books.  There accuracy levels are tracked through random worksheets and standardized tests that only measure their frustrations, instead of their learning curve.

This brought me to the next level of if I was really going to help children who were struggling in the classroom; I needed to be in the classroom.   I needed to learn and see what they were experiencing to really be able to grasp how to help them.  So I sold my private practice and moved to LA in 2004 and went to work hands-on in the classroom.  I didn’t become a teacher. I remained a speech pathologist, but I was blessed with the opportunity to work as an independent contractor in a large LA private school grades K-12.  The first thing I learned that year was what an idiot I had been.  I had been recommending all the wrong things.  None of what I had been recommending would work in a classroom.  I went from being angry and blaming teachers for children’s classroom struggles, to honoring them and the knowledge they have in teaching children to read, write and do mathematics.  So I was the dummy.  Luckily, this group of teachers was led by an amazing elementary principal.  He shared the same passion of helping children. They were patient with me and my learning curve.

The second year I had developed strategies that worked and were making differences in children’s and parents’ lives.  I started tracking the data in terms of percentage changes and carryover.  The average time in treatment was 16 hours.  Students were going from D and F averages to A and B averages.  The overall average of the 60 children using the program was 93.6% and they maintained this average over the next year, without any additional instruction.  This shows they had developed into independent, competent learners.

This should be our goal for all children with learning challenges.

How was this achieved?

  1. Parents, teachers, and specialist all had the same goals.  Everybody worked from the same page.  Not one page of goals for academics and one page for speech…. We all had the same goals.
  2. We were all trained together, so everyone had the same knowledge base and vocabulary.  This made communicating take less than five minutes in conversation or email and could easily be done on an ongoing basis.
  3. The child had consistency at home, at school, and in therapy.
  4. All new skills were developed into learning strategies and immediately implemented back into the curriculum. Therefore, model immediately was functional for all involved.
  5. The result was significantly shorter duration of treatment, with greater accuracy, and the development of independent, competent learners.  It was also a model that could be duplicated in multiple learning situations and applicable for all grades.

Why couldn’t this same model be used in our public school special education programs?  Guess what?...It can!!!

Corona- Norco is the first district to step up in Orange County.  This model, which I have named Customized Learning Approach Program is currently being used in a pilot program in an elementary school in the Corona School District with a second grade, learning disabled student.  He had been in special ed for two years with little to no progress.  He was functioning 2 to 3 years below grade level.  The classroom teacher, resource room, two speech pathologists, occupational therapist, and the parent, were all trained in the Customized Learning Approach Program.  This means, they all learned the same exercises and were educated in the same philosophy and rational.  Since I was not onsite, emails were used to establish communication for updates on a regular basis between school, parent and myself.  The child has progressed eighteen months in all areas, with some areas, such as reading, showing a two year gain.

It can happen.  There can be a change.

One more thing I learned  in Los Angeles, is that, parents are the army that creates the change.

The private school where I was working in LA, was 52 years old.  Their way of doing things, was set in stone.  While the principals of the elementary, middle and high school saw the value of what was happening on campus; the superintendent was not as pleased and put the brakes on hard and fast.  It was an army of 45 parents who passionately believed in the necessity of the new program and the way it had impacted their child’s learning.  Those 45 parents united and stood up for what they knew had helped their children.  The change happened because of those parents.

That experience showed me the power of unity.  It showed me the power of ideas and passions being shared and supported.  Forty-five parents changed the policy and procedure of a 52 year special education program at a school of 2500 students.

Think what could happen nationwide?

So this brings me to my current status.  I am back in OC and working with my husband in his chiropractic office.  I am seeing a small caseload of children.  I love the hands on with children and parents.  I know I will never be able to give that up.  However, I know I am being called to help those thousands of children Weston showed me about two years ago.  It is time for me to step out and bring parents together and create change.  I am currently working on establishing communities in OC.  Those communities are made up of small groups of parents within neighborhoods, across Orange County.  I am producing the material so that each community can begin learning the information and concepts of the Customized Learning Approach Program.  The beauty is you don’t have to go further than your own home or street, to receive hope, build new relationships, and create change.  Imagine what could happen if several communities in OC had the same vocabulary and were able to develop common goals for their children for learning, and everyone was working on those goals together, and you were supported by other families in your same neighborhood?  What impact do you think this would have on our schools special education program with an army of parents like that?  I know the impact will be big.  I know the result will be change.  I know now is the time to make it happen.  Weston has surrounded me with a multitude of talented people who have been working on this project with me for the past year. I am excited to begin sharing it with all of you.

Thank you for all your love and support.

Weston’s Words “voiced” by Meg Lupin

May 7, 2009

How can I serve others in the best way possible? How can I make the biggest impact on the greatest number of people? How can I help someone less fortunate than myself? How can I clear away the wreckage of my past so I can move forward?

These are the kinds of questions that we all should be asking ourselves. The speed of transformation that is taking place right now is rocking our world. People are being forced into a re-evaluation of everything in their lives. This is a very positive thing even if we lose jobs, friends, and our old ways. Many of you have your whole self esteem wrapped up in your jobs. Your success should not be measured by how successful you are at a job. Your success should be measured by your acts of kindness, love and compassion. Your success should be measured by how willing you would be to share your success with someone else. Anyone’s success is everyone’s success. Anyone’s failure is everyone’s failure.

Move outside of yourself by truly giving your heart the freedom to love. Love everyone! That includes your rudest relative and your meanest boss. Love everyone! That includes your inconsiderate friend and your thoughtless parent. Love everyone! That includes loving yourself. You are the seed that needs to be planted to harvest the best things in life. You deserve it!! You are truly loved so why not love everyone else unconditionally.

Just by reading this you are partaking in a transformation. Meg and I are sending you love, healing energy, and blessings. You deserve it. Take it in. Meditate on it. Have a wonderful day. Go out and celebrate life. You need to have more fun!!

Lovingly,

Weston

Q & A with Carmen

Everyone loves Carmen stories! I have to admit that given she is my sister, it is so easy to reveal more information about her than I would any other person. She laughs and takes it all in stride, however. As you can tell, Weston has a very special relationship with her, and I am forever grateful to her for sharing that part of him with me.

1. Tell me how you first "saw" Weston?

This was about 10 years ago and I was cleaning my kitchen floor when all of a sudden Weston popped in laughing and said "yes- it's me." I clearly sensed that it was him and you have to remember that at this time, only one or two healers could sense and communicate with him. Although Marilu was quite skeptical, I was not because, as I have stated before, Weston's consciousness is unmistakable.

2. How have you seen Weston change since you first saw him?

Over the years I have come to realize that Weston can integrate and separate his many dimensional bodies.  When he first started coming to me I saw him at about his chronological earthly age. He was very playful at the time and would often bring his friends for me to meet. We used to travel the universe with an incredible sense of freedom. This is also a more vulnerable Weston who can be terrorized by negative forces. (That is why Marilu has dubbed me "Buffy the Vampire Slayer”!) Later, I began to see a more adolescent Weston who, I might say, is "Mr. Smarty Pants." He has an incredible dry sense of humor and can be very impatient with the things he wants and needs done. This is also the Weston that on occasion, I've had to "intervene" for when necessary. I have also seen the "young adult" Weston and this is the Weston who does the workshops. Last of all, I've seen whom I call "Warrior Weston." This is a mature and magnificent Weston who is filled with beautiful light. This is the Weston who battles negative energies within the universe side by side with the angels and St. Michael.

3.  What types of things does he typically speak to you about?

There are times when Weston simply gets tired or feels the heavy burden of the tasks he's taken on. The enormity of his mission sometimes puts him in doubt. I have found him alone needing quiet time and at other times, he will come and walk with me as we enjoy the quiet tranquility of each other's company. Other times there are specific areas that he wants me to cleanse and put in light, other dimensional friends of his who might need help, or sometimes we just chat about what he's doing, and MANY times he chastises me for not fully accepting what I am capable of.

4.  When does he speak to you most often?

Whenever I call him he will either come right away or send a message.  He mostly likes to join me on my many walks, but he'll just "pop" in whenever he needs something- even if it's not the most advantageous time for me!

5.  Tell me about a really interesting place that the two of you have visited in the subconscious realm?

Atlantis, of course. I don't have a clear memory of what Atlantis is like, but I am always excited and thrilled when we've gone there. I especially love gliding through the universe with him as the sense of freedom is amazing. I have conscious memories of stepping into other universes but no memory of the universes themselves, And of course, I have to mention "Woohoo," one of Weston's very best friends and a beautiful intergalactic being.

6.  What does your family think about your unique relationship with Weston?

I think most of them are accepting but doubtful, except for my youngest son, Evan. Evan's relationship with his cousin is evolving and I'm pretty certain he will be hearing him fairly soon. He is already aware when Weston is around and has seen his energy. Actually, I think all of his cousins and aunts will be able to hear him in the future as he becomes more evolved in is abilities on this plane and they become more accepting of his and their abilities.

7.  It is obvious you have a very special relationship with Weston. Why do you think he chose to speak to you telepathically rather than other extended family members?

I have been told that we are of the same DNA and dynastic line. We have been together for tens of thousands of years as we know time on this plane and I was his mother in a past life. I have grieved for him when he was lost in battle and rejoice in his successes now.

8.  I understand Weston has a lot of friends in that realm and he has introduced you to some of them. What does him and his friends typically do when they are "out there?"

To be honest- he likes to party! He takes joy in true friends just as we all do.

9.  Are you aware of Weston's presence when you are "clearing" an area? If so, does he help?

Not really. I'm aware of him at times when we've had to battle within the universe, but when I'm clearing an area he typically stays away until it's cleared and "clean."

10. Tell me why it is important for Weston to have a space cleared before he does a Healing and Networking Workshop?

Weston has the ability to travel the universe and as such, can attract attention to himself, not all of it in light. He can't deal with some of the negativity so I cleanse it for him. When we do a workshop, it takes an incredible amount of light; mainly because of those who join him. If the Council comes, it is a great honor and the area must be prepared for them. So many people come to the workshops that the area must have an abundance of light to absorb and keep out anything negative that could be brought in. Weston is very sensitive to people's energies, positive and negative, so the light protects all of us who attend. If the Council attends a meeting, the area needs more light simply because of the greatness of their being. If they do not attend, the area still needs to be cleansed for Weston's own protection.

Calling all Teens & Young Adults

Weston would like to communicate with you on Facebook. He plans on having special messages for you and would like to communicate these through Facebook. I am not sure yet how often he will post the messages and what else he has in mind. If you are interested in receiving these messages through Facebook, please invite him as your friend. Look for more information in future newsletters.

Testimonials

This testimonial is from Patti, who has come to a few of the workshops even though she lives in San Jose, California! Weston’s words last week touched a lot of people, including Pam, Patti’s sister. Read what happened below.

From Patti…

“Thought you might be interested in how far reaching Weston's influence is.  I sent my sister his newsletter after she emailed me about all the crud that's going on in her life right now.  Check out her response below.”

Her sister, Pam’s response….

“Oh.  My.  Gosh. He's speaking to me this week, Patti!!  I seriously asked THESE EXACT QUESTIONS this morning, while sitting on my kitchen floor (crying).  I literally asked, what was the point of it all?  Was I being punished?  How could I ever forgive these people who profess themselves to be Christians?  I am NOT KIDDING.  These are the questions I asked.  You have no idea how crazy it is for me to read a message from Weston that seems to be directed at me.  Wow.”

Thanks so much for forwarding that to me.  I'm feeling better now.  His words were truly inspiring.

Hugs, hugs, HUGS.
